The British Library has recently bought the oldest suriving European book known, St Cuthbert's copy of Saint John's Gospel. This old tome and its story can be quite inspirational in how you perceive books in your tabletop roleplaying setting. Nearly a millenium and a half old, it has been hidden, moved, stashed again, and cherished by many over the years and now it will find a home in a library.
