Setting & Society Sunday - Pedlars and Alchemists
The Medievalists.net website clued me into a 2011 article on academia.edu focusing on the "Pedlars and Alchemists in Friuli History of itinerant sellers in an alpine reality." Set this one aside for a long read later today if you have the time and want a deep history lesson here.
